Mary Elizabeth Johnson, LCSW

I specialize in working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma—whether recent or in the past—and are now struggling with its impact on their daily lives, relationships, and overall well-being. Many of my clients are dealing with stress, emotional dysregulation, strained family dynamics, and low self-esteem. Often, they feel stuck in negative patterns and overwhelmed by emotions they can’t seem to manage on their own.

I work with adults, teens, and their families using a integrated holistic approach that honors the ways our minds and bodies adapt to pain and adversity. My practice integrates EMDR therapy along with other evidence-based tools to help clients process emotional wounds, regulate their emotions, improve communication, and reconnect with their strengths.

Tenisha Hunter, LCSW-S

My name is Tenisha Hunter, LCSW-S, and I’m currently accepting new clients ages 18 and older for both individual and group therapy. As a San Antonio native who graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, I know about the challenges that many people in our community face. I support many of my clients through issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, recent hospital discharges, and managing medical co-occurring conditions.

I have been practicing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) since 2009 and have seen it make huge positive changes for hundreds of clients. I was formally trained and supervised by Penny Kruger, one of Texas’s best DBT specialists. While I offer traditional talk therapy rooted in psychoanalytic and solution-focused techniques, DBT tools will be thoughtfully woven into our work to support meaningful and lasting progress.

As part of our sessions, I always consider how your past influences the barriers of your present. Throughout life, we learn “scripts” about who we are, what other people think of us, and who we think we should be. By talking about your past and childhood, we can find connections to the challenges you’re facing in your life, and come up with ways to solve your problems.

In addition to therapy services, I also provide clinical supervision for LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure in the state of Texas.
